Exhibition ‘Fear & Hope are – Vision’ in Vienna
“Fear & Hope are – Vision” in May 2025 in the
Gallery DRUCK & BUCH
Berggasse 21/2
1090 Vienna
““Fear & Hope are – Vision” (William Blake) contextualizes the award-winning artist books by Clifton Meador ‘endless war’, with new works by Peter Malutzki, Wolfgang Buchta, Robbin Ami Silverberg, Nele Ströbel, Jule Claudia Mahn, Jan Svenungsson, Andras Böröcz, BLOW UP Press, Ulrich Wagner, Daniela Deeg & Cynthia Lollis and others.
With “Some Buildings on the Streets of Kharkiv”, Peter Malutzki formally refers to Ed Ruscha, Nele Ströbel visualizes dystopian fantasies about drones and other tools of war in her leporellos, Robbin Ami Silverberg visualizes the borders of Ukraine in “Simulacrum” and Wolfgang Buchta illustrates all human hardships in the “Book of Job”. But beyond war and dystopia, there are also other fundamental upheavals: the change of political systems in Jule Claudia Mahn’s work or the drawing of borders in Ulrich Wagner’s work, the refugee situation in Boush Musa’s work, everyday risks in Daniela Deeg and Cynthia Lollis’ work and elementary threats in Amy Borezo’s work, among others.”
