 The mountain stands up

The mountain stands up

The room work is based on a dream. As a waitress’s daughter on leave during a rainy summer in central Switzerland, I incessantly sketched the mountain giants surrounding me.

I learned that these are hollowed out and furnished for civil defense purposes. Every Swiss has (had?) the right to a safe bed in the event of a disaster. At night I dreamed the Klönthal mountains would move, get up and go to bed.

The thirteen-part movement intervals were originally made of wood. They were then painted and translated into iron folds. These are topped with terracotta forms, the inner shape of which is modeled and painted. The outer shape is characterized by imprints of technical structures.
