Sonnenhof, Munich

The cuboid new building of the kindergarten looks like a pedestal in the highly enclosed courtyard. Visitors are greeted from the roof of the main entrance by a large sunflower with a heliostat mounted on its back. This travels with the sun and projects its rays onto an elliptical deflecting mirror aligned with the glass cover of the atrium, the back of which is shaped as a lily pad.
An architectural installation that communicates between indoor and outdoor spaces and the small and large users of the building complex.

Gabrielenstraße, Munich-Neuhausen.
