Art in public space:
the 10 objects at the Gasteig-Bastion wall (corner Rosenheimerstr/Innere Wiener Straße) are a new Munich landmark for living culture.
in May (showcase exhibition Ruprecht Geiger): As part of the mobile installation “kunst-koffer-gasteig” by the Munich artist Nele Ströbel, some of Rupprecht Geiger’s models and sketches for the work “Gerundetes Blau” (Rounded Blue), which has stood in front of the Gasteig since 1987, were displayed in the Gasteig. Nele Ströbel’s mobile installations deal with the people and stories surrounding the Gasteig. The sculpture by Rupprecht Geiger is a 7 m high aluminum oval sprayed with a strong blue. It forms a contrast to the red brick building of the Kultrzentrum and is in dialogue with Alf Lechner’s “Durchdringung”, a stele made of stainless steel. The two artists had conceived the ensemble together. Franziska Harder Rupprecht Geiger Archive Munich
