 Drones over the city

Drones over the city

drones over the city

In this work, I thematize “black holes” and the “black whole” at the same time in these dystopian times. Military drones disguised as animals such as owls or seagulls, even with an obvious technical appearance, are currently criss-crossing our airspace and waters.
They are flying on private and state missions.
Filming, strafing, spying, dropping bombs.
Remote-controlled and often invisible.

This leporello is about architectural and inner spaces that are out of balance.
About fears and attempts to understand and deal with the maelstrom of events.

In times of Corona, I cut destroyed landmarks from Munich and Berlin in linoleum.
I have now printed the motifs on the full leporello length of 240 cm in black.
The drone motifs were then placed on the ruins in white.
I drew drones on the other side of the fanfold and condensed them spatially using stencil prints.
The covers are made of printed transparent foil and carry technical drawing instruments.
