About drones and cities
“About drones and cities”
In this work, I thematize “black holes” and the “black whole” at the same time in these dystopian times.
Military drones, disguised as animals such as owls or seagulls, even with an obvious technical appearance, are currently criss-crossing our airspace and waters.
They are flying on private and state missions.
Filming, strafing, spying, dropping bombs.
Remote-controlled and often invisible.
This leporello is about architectural and inner spaces that are out of balance.
About fears and attempts to understand and deal with the maelstrom of events.
There are many superimpositions.
The tool jumps out of its outline form, green and black linocuts of places are almost erased.
The drone and tool motifs are stencil-printed onto the paper in white and black tinting paint.
Pencil drawings of tent outlines and buildings in all states of aggregation are placed on top.
A work with a lot of minor keys which, according to my teacher at the Academy in Vienna, the philosopher Prof. Arnold Keyserling, becomes major and comforting again.
