Landshuter Bogen (Landshut Arch) 1997/98

The individual parts of this five-part sculpture are based on segments of a circle and form an arch over the 32-meter glass hall. The framed, perforated metal plates are printed on both sides with enlarged photographs of diatoms and radiolaria, magnified 5000 times. These taper from 4.5 to 2 meters in the course of the sculpture's overall length of 6.73 meters. The floor structure of light and dark granite corresponds to the sculpture.
