Visitors entering the building's foyer are greeted
by five "molecular disks" floating in the air. These are arranged
so that their shadows fall on the northern wall. Sunlight passing
through the patterned windows reflects on the disks, creating an
impression of large molecules comprised of many pulsing atoms. Over
the course of the room's eleven steps and two stories,
CHANNEL tapers from 5'30" m to 10 cm. The diagonal alignment
of its elements highlights the dynamics of the hall, reflecting its
movement. |
