Dr. Paul Parin is a doctor who is considered to be
the founder of ethnopsychoanalysis. Son of a Jewish landowner in
Slovenia, he has been a Swiss citizen from birth. In 1939 he moved
to Zurich with his wife Goldy, with whom he has co-authored a
number of books. In 1944/45, both doctors supported Yugoslav
partisans. He carried out many research trips to West Africa
between 1955 and 1971, and has received numerous prizes and awards,
including the Erich Fried prize in 1992. His most well-known works
include Die Weißen denken zu viel, Zu viele Teufel im Land
(1985/1993), Es ist Krieg und wir gehen hin, and Der Traum von
Ségou. |
